DEVELOPER MARKETING TRENDS 2006

Back to Market Research | Please contact us for more information.

  • Overview:

An in-depth study on the marketing mediums preferred by UK software developers.

    Sample:

    300 UK software developers

    Methodology:

    Telephone interviews (qualitative and quantitative)

    Synopsis:

The research highlights developer preferences for IT media, including industry magazines, websites and newsfeeds.

    Buzz:

While online sources were selected as the most ideal methods of sourcing IT information, developers believe that print magazines and forums are the most credible. For both sources the mass of advertising was the most disliked aspect – pop-ups proving the most annoying.

  • “Our latest research piece has revealed some interesting insights into a very niche target audience that should be of enormous benefit to anybody trying to communicate with them,” said Cathy Radcliffe, Operations Director for Kingpin Intelligence.
“The research indicates that some traditional methods of marketing communication have proved ineffective with this audience, and other methods seem more attractive than previously thought. Also, it appears that print isn’t dead!”
